Beautiful visitor

I have tried for a very long time to get a picture of a cardinal, they are very camara shy! Finally this morning this beautiful male cardinal was resting in our tree and he hung around long enough for me to snap his picture

Road Trip

14 days, 4700 miles, 9 states and tons of fun. We started our journey with a stop in Houston to see Robert, Erin & Nate, we had some good Texas BBQ and saw the chrome armadillo. Next stop was New Orleans for the Cardinals vs. Saints game. Sadly the Cardinals lost bad but we still had a great time. The view from our nose bleed seats.

The Saints fans were some of the nicest fans we have ever been around. They were so happy to have us visit their city. Boy do they love their Saints. They have a saying that they chant "Who Dat say gunna beat dem Saints" Everytime we were stopped as we walked around the city in our Cardinals gear they would say "Who Dat"

The Super Dome is still being repaired from the damage Katrina caused.

New Orleans was an amazing place, the buildings are beautiful and old! People would stop us on the street to shake our hands and thank us for visiting their city, it was so cool.

Loved all the balconies. You can rent them for the day during Mardi Gras to enjoy the festivities.

The cemetaries were beautiful in their own way.

Next stop Savannah Georgia. One of the most beautiful places I have ever been. The history of the buildings was fascinating. There are 25 little parks spread thruout the city. Each with a statue and tribute to someone who helped the city.

The trees were awesome, huge huge huge.

There are so many historical homes in the city, most have been restored, each had a plaque to tell about it.

Next stop Atalant. I have been a Braves fan since I was 8 and I finally got the chance to see Turner Field. We got to take a behind the scenes tour. I couldn't stop smiling.

The dugout, I got to sit where Dale Murphy, Glavin, Maddox, Smoltz and Chipper have sat.

Next stop Nashville. Visited the Grand Ol Opry, took a behind the scenes tour, got to stand on stage and hold really expensive guitars.

Visited several Honky Tonks, listened to awesome music.

Went to the Country Music Hall of Fame.

The old Nashville with the New Nashvile. The city has codes that won't allow any shop owner on Broadway to change the front of the building. They are trying to preserve the old Nashville.

Next stop Memphis. We made this stop for Jr's sister who is a huge Elvis fan. It was really cool to walk thru Graceland and see all the Elvis stuff. Well worth the trip.

I thought Elvis was still alive living in Vegas:)

The Jungle Room. Green shag carpet on the floors and ceiling. This wall is an indoor waterfall Elvis had put in for calming.

One of the many rooms with all his gold records and movie awards and of course the famous jump suits.

Next stop Dallas/Fort Worth Texas. We took a tour of Southfork Ranch, home of the TV show Dallas, which I have never seen an episode of.

Famous Billy Bob's Texas. When I was 5 my family took a trip to Ft. Worth to see my Granparents and I got to sit on the bar with my brothers for a photo, so 26 yrs later here I am again. They wouldn't let me sit on the bar this time.

2 times a day they recreate the longhorns coming down the street to the Ft. Worth Stockyards as they did hundreds of yrs. ago. It was cool, the longhorns are amazing.

I told Jr to run with the bulls, they wouldn't let him!!!!

After Fort Worth we headed home. While we were away there was a micro burst that came up our driveway and did some damage. Thankfully my in laws were staying at the house and took care of everything for us.

Welcome 2010

This is how we celebrated the New Year, we put on some funny glasses, played a game with some friends, ate some yummy food and went to bed at 11. Can you say party animals? 2009 was a good year for us and we want 2010 to be even better!!!

Christmas 2009

We were very blessed to have a wonderful Christmas. Part of Jrs family was here and all my family was here. We spent Christmas morning opening presents, eating a yummy breakfast & watching a movie with Jrs family. Then we went to my Grandmas house for lunch, more presents & a game of backyard football. It was a great day full of fun, we were so happy to be able to spend the day with family.

Christmas Eve Pinata Party

It has been a Ross family tradition as far back as I can remember to have a pinata party on Christmas Eve. We get family & friends together for dinner, games & top the evening off with breaking a pinata. We used to make our pinatas at home but the last few years I find it easier to go to Walmart and pick one up. This year I was excited to find an Optumus Prime Transformer pinata. He is so cool that it was a shame to break him to pieces. We started with youngest to oldest and we all took a wack at him, he finnally broke open and all the kids went running for the candy, they filled their pockets and their months as fast as they could.

Santa

The family is in town for the holidays and no holiday is complete without a trip to see Santa. Nate was so excited to sit on Santas lap and tell him that he wants a Bumblebee Transformer for Christmas. Jonathan as you can see is just along for the ride, happy to be held and look at all the lights.

Light Parade

We attended the Casa Grande Christmas light parade on Saturday.

Finished the evening off with a Ross family tradition of SMORES!
